Mark Lanegan - Muddy Water

Not totally convinced by the rest of the album. But I could listen to this song all day.

Yes, they are. Looking forward to getting to L now.

Currently on F, so I've been listening to Fugazi lately. They're a really good band, but not the kind of thing I listen to these days. This A-Å project of mine is weird, but fun.

Me too. And I was happy to hear some Swahili, even though it wasn't all that much.

Sikiliza means listen. Kimya means quiet.

Listening to the album I picked up at the Stone last night... Shane Parish's "Undertaker Please Drive Slow." I hadn't seen him before but was intrigued based on the fact that he just released an album of folk/traditional music on a label that exclusively releases experimental music. Then I checked his website and he's got a quote from Marc Ribot talking about how great the album is. Sold! So I went, and it was a brilliant set - really interesting and beautiful in a way that 99% of solo guitar performers don't manage. Technically impressive but not showy, and just fascinating arrangements, seamlessly working in a variety of extended techniques without being too noisy/weird. I went up to buy a copy of his album after it ended, and the volunteer running the merch table was already being beset by a crowd of fans waving money at him and he only had two copies left. He asked me to go find Shane and see if he had any more CDs. Luckily, he did and everyone got to buy one that wanted one... including me. Which I'm now listening to. Which is why we're all in this thread. :ninja:

You can listen to a track on his Bandcamp page: https://shaneparish.bandcamp.com/album/ ... drive-slow

Sometimes you hear a song that just makes you stop and listen. Love this.
