Does anyone know how I could best watch this show when it is on the air? Would it be nice to watch it together with some people somewhere?? Does anyone have American TV 'installed' by default on his/her tv? I am too clumsy for that kind of thing ;-). I read about people watching by streaming, etc, modernities. Can I watch on the 9th by clicking on a link on my laptop? Would be nice to see the show live, same for the 10th or course.

I don't know about streaming it live, but it won't take long for it to appear on YouTube in HD, probably a couple of hours at most.
It might be worth checking your TV listings too, Letterman doesn't air in the UK, but Fallon is shown on CNBC Europe the following night.

Well, at least we still have Casey on drums! Should be a well rehearsed affair ;)

well, I'm not really biting my nails about that, but I hope somebody is going to tape it
while I'm on holiday.

Augie Meyers heading to NYC to play “Letterman” and “Fallon” with Tom Waits

Legendary keyboardist Augie Meyers heads to New York on Saturday for reherasals with Tom Waits on Sunday in preparation for appearances on “Late Show with David Letterman” and “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”

The Grammy-winning Sir Douglas Quintet and Texas Tornados cofounder says they’ll play material from Waits latest album, “Bad As Me.” Meyers played spooky Vox organ (on “Raised Right Men“), piano and accordion on the new CD.

“They told me to learn 11 songs (from Waits’ new record),” Meyers said. “They’ve whittled it down to three.”

Meyers just finished a West Coast trek with Texas Tornados. He said he’ll play the NYC trip by ear. It was not immediately known if the appearance would be broadcast live or taped for later air date. “That’s all I know right now,” Meyers said.

For now, just stay tuned next week. “Bad As Me” is Waits’ first studio album in seven years. The TV appearances are Waits’ first live performances of songs from the new album.

Along with Meyers, the band will include Waits’ son and drummer, Casey Waits, Los Lobos’ David Hidalgo on guitar, bassist Larry Morgan and guitarist Bill Morganfield.

So, might be taped for later broadcast? Never thought of that.

I guess Augie isn't familiar with the way the shows are taped and broadcast.
They'll be taped on Monday and Tuesday a few hours before broadcast.

This week's guests:
Letterman: http://www.cbs.com/late_night/late_show ... guests.php
Fallon: http://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/episode-guide/

Excellent Jeremy. I rarely watch those shows but I just might get the hankering to check it out on the tube before it hits youtube.

From today's Minneapolis paper. Funny

critic’s choice this week
NEAL JUSTIN

Monday

Tom Waits did two Minnesota bands — Trampled by Turtles and Poliça — a big favor when he canceled late-night performances this past April, forcing shows to book the two groups as last-minute replacements. Waits is now scheduled to be on “The Late Show With David Letterman” (10:35 p.m., WCCO, Ch. 4) Monday and “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” (11:35 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11). In case of another 11th-hour cancellation, we hear Dessa is waiting by her phone.

There are two guests plus Tom scheduled for Tuesday: http://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/episode-guide/
They normally do two interviews plus a song, does that mean Tom won't get a full-length interview?

Letterman has just one other guest scheduled for tomorrow: http://www.cbs.com/late_night/late_show ... guests.php
