Glad you got to meet each other, and in what better place? :)

Great to meet Martin and his lovely wife Marlene at Napoleone's!

Pizza and Swordfishtrombones on the jukebox...

We had a good time with my 4-yr old Maya, who danced and laughed and ran all over the place and bounced on the booth chairs like a kangaroo and made all the waitresses smile...

I gave him a big hug to share with my Euro friends on the next meet-up. His descriptions of you all make me yearn to visit. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a European TW tour!

Halleluja!! :D

any pics?

Just a quick summary...

Overall we had a very good journey...had rainy days, sunny and cloudy days in southern CA, we went to the beaches in Malibu, San Dan Diego, Santa Monica, Venice...saw the dessert during one of the cloudy days in Borrego Springs...went to Juian had some Apple Pie...celebrated record store at Lou's in Enicinitas, saw the Getty Villa, strolled downtwon LA, Library, Walt Disney Hall, Museum Of Contemporary Art, drove Mullholland Drive, Sunset Boulevard etc., been to the Walk of Fame(hwat a bad experience), went several times to Amoeba bought a lot of Cds and vinyl, watched the sunset at the Official Griffith Observatory Los Angeles, CA, saw Whales, Brown Flamingos, Seals, Dolphins at the Zuma Beach in Malibu, drove 1700 Miles in 3 weeks, I worked on several days,Talked to "Music Man Murray" on the phone(according to the email he send me Tom Waits is one of his customers) but he had no rare Waits Vinyl for me, went to the Folk Art Record store in SD (bought an oldJ ohn Mayall album)and asked Lou Curtis if he has additional TW recordings. He has nothing more to offer and can not transfer stuff without "Tom's permission"...but we had a nice conversation going, been to Napoleons in National City and talked to Sal's son and bought two shirts after "Tony" left. Almost forgot to buy the shirts...saw no concert...bummer

Nice to see all that again-- it brings back wonderful memories of the 2008 San Diego meet. :)
Glad you had such an adventurous time, swt!

will look at home...a South American pressing of Live songs....Maybe a compilation from the Diary Of A Band sessions but I hadn't seen it before. Had no time to check yet and the turn table is broken and needs maintenance, therefore all the new Waits Vinyl is still sealed no reason to open it..dunno if thats good or bad :-))) ...I can scan the cover and post if you are interested....My first Mayall album was Bare Wires which I bought around 1970 in Paris....still love it....but my favorites albums are with Jon Mark/Johnny Almond...but I stopped byimg his albums after Ten Years Are Gone...

Funny, am pretty sure Bare Wires was the last album I bought ...
Did see them twice in Amersfoort of all places, with Mick Taylor.
