I'm female, and I've always liked and respected Bowie. That article didn't make me laugh; it made me do this:

Just ordered my vinyl copy. Supposed to show up in the stores yesterday, didn't. Same thing happened with Push The Sky Away and I'll be damned if I didn't get this on vinyl. I can live without Push The Sky Away, deprive me of the Next Day I may have some problems.

Bowie promises new music soon:

Don't be such a tease David...

In other news, I've been listening to the Next Day a lot lately and I still find it to be amazingly strong. I'm still picking up little details and nuances in the lyrics that I hadn't picked up on before. Definitely in my top 5 Bowie albums, making it one of my favourite albums ever.

Excellent news!

I feel about the same as I did last year. Where Are We Now is stunning, a couple more are quite good, and the rest are listenable. My problem with his sound is that he never has any swing to his music like his early albums, even when he does rock numbers. The beat is extremely stiff -- drums are right on beat on almost every song. Makes it sound clinical. I guess that's just how he likes it now, but I miss the slinky rhythms. The Stars Are Out Tonight kinda has a groove, but then the lyrics are kinda silly.

Exactly. I was trying to figure out what was missing and you got it exactly right. Thank you.

New song 'Sue (Or In a Season of Crime)' which was played on BBC Radio 6; it'll be on a forthcoming compilation album, as well as on a 10" coupled with another new song. Not really my thing, but I'm sure some will ike it. :)

Glad to see he's still experimenting with style changes at this stage of his career.

I like the song but am more curious about how it'd fit onto an album. (hint hint  )

He needs to go on tour, that's what he needs...a tour...yes.

New Bowie album out on January 8th.

Apparently it's incredibly weird and jazzy. Can't wait.
