And, I almost forgot: on Monday my wife and I will finally see Paul Simon.
Been wanting to see him since forever.
Simon & Garfunkle in Central Park is one of my most-played albums.
Been listening to it since it came out. On cassette at first, on reel at my best friend's place, on LP, and finally on DVD.
Know what? It's still crazy after all these years.

Seeing Thomas Strønen’s new band ‘Time is a Blind Guide’ tonight.. seen him a couple of times before.. but not with this line-up.
A beautiful album..

"Time is a Blind Guide is the name of the Norwegian-British ensemble led by drummer and composer Thomas Strønen.
The band was built to include a number of overlapping musical sub-groups: piano trio, string group and percussion.."

Why have I never heard of this? Listening now.

Well.. he certainly deserves a higher profile than he has..
This album is a lot more accessible than things he’s done in the past.. so that should help.. coupled with the fact that it’s really beautiful music..

Apparently they arrived via the tram.. That must be a first..

Just got myself a ticket for Ceramic Dog.
The last 5 times or so they were playing in Belgium I couldn't go for different reasons. I thought they were doomed.
But now I've got a ticket for their March show in Antwerp :D

I'll cross my fingers that nothing crops up between now and then to prevent you from going! :D Great live band...

The way things are going, maybe they will all be in prison and have to cancel their tour. :-|

Oh really?! I thought we were going Brussels. :D
Good thing I drop by your place first, huh.
Right country, wrong town. Wouldn't be the first time.

You'll find your way, I'm sure! Next up for us is guitar wizardry with Julian Lage & Chris Eldridge. Apparently March is ladies month with Sierra Hull, Pieta Brown, Madeleine Peyroux & Rickie Lee Jones on the calendar. That should bring some cheer to a traditionally dreary month. Other than that, just whoever we run into at the local

I got tickets to see Oumou Sangare in May. So happy.

The day after I bought the tickets I ran into the man who arranges the jazz festival she's playing in connection with, and he said he'd noticed I'd bought the first ticket. I've been known to do that.

Haha. Me too

Currently at the top of my anticipated-concerts-of-2017 list is the CD release party for John Zorn's next Book of Angels album, which is conveniently scheduled on my 40th birthday 8) And it's performed by a band I really love (trio of Brian Marsella + Kenny Wollesen + Trevor Dunn). Doesn't get much better than that!
