 I went to The Last Record Store and the owner said he went to a show in the mid seventies and Waits opened up. I think the mid seventies was the best time for Zappa--Apostrophe and Overnite Sensation. That jazzy progessive adventurous stuff. I wish people would make that music again. Damn, that stuff was so Beat 50's Kerouac cool. Fuck, what the hell happened!? :(

hello, my name is Gunslinger! ill just put it out front that i am an absolute Zappa fanatic , sure ill admit, 80% of his catalog is probably straight up unlistenable, but that still leaves me with about 20 albums over 3 decades of music for me to enjoy.

Sorry Gunslinger!

Fuck the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. I know for sure Zappa would never have stepped foot on that stage for his reward. He despised those cretins.
That's Why Lou Reed inducted him and that's why those jerk-offs booed him. Because he's got guts and intergrity. Unlike all those cretins that sit in luxury sipping insipid champagne and modeling for the camera like the true hussies they are. Believe me, if Zappa had walked on that stage, he would have made a beautiful, ugly mess of things. Peace out :blues:

I would imagine Tom has met Zappa since Tom opened for Zappa for awhile in the 70's. Wasn't that one of the brilliant questions which with Faithfull opened this thread?

Well, you know, the true genius behind all of this is Captain Beefheart. :notworthy:
I'd love to go to heaven and have a conversation with Zappa, Waits, and Beefheart. Oh wait, shit, I'm a sinner!!!

Of course they met. There is even a recording available of Waits and Zappa together on stage.
Faithfull is just being dumb all over.

It even involves a guy sitting at a bar when a Marrianne Faithfull fan jumps out of his pocket and starts causing trouble.

 I'm glad I got off the Dead Head thread. I was losing my mind. Wouldn't have been dreamy to have Zappa fucking with everybody in the Senate. It's so terrible that's he died before he could make it to the Daily Show, Colbert, an appearance on South Park. Yes, it's true, I do not like hippies--they are hypocrites. We all have anger and cruelty all the time inside us and they are just idiots. As Buckoswki wrote "War is a part of society. It's war when I get into a taxi. It's war when I buy bread."
