I loved it! The sound is awesome, the venue spectacular! Felt like an instant time travel back Royal Albert Hall (also not a very shabby venue, to be honest).
Very happy they decided to show this on the big screen. And that they picked the biggest screen in the cinema in Haarlem to do it. The audience went for it. Singing along, clapping, throwing in a woohoo here and there. Great!

My favourite guitar player on the planet. When he plays, my knees go weak.

Was that a stream from a live show?
I saw Monty Python in the cinema live from London.
Felt special, the idea all over the world people in cinema's and the lucky bastards in the venue watching the same thing.
As TV used to be.

I am into a David Lynch fase recently with Twin Peaks the Return (best thing on TV since the Soprano's, Breaking Bad and The Wire)
Watched Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway again ... and "Mulholland Drive", a masterpiece.

Three movie nights in a row...
I managed to sleep through all of them.

Maybe this evening?

Hoping to soon watch Embrace of the Serpent, which is about the Colombian Amazonian shaman & a couple of scientists who meet up with him at different times. The scientists are looking for a specific plant that the shaman works with.

Should be interesting.

@Surfman - it wasn't. It was just a one-off in cinemas worldwide on the 13th.
He's releasing the recording in all sorts of formats, but got it shown on the big screen as well.
Didn't get into the live experience thing, but certainly got the vibe of seeing a live gig, if you catch my drift.
Great recording.

I must admit I think DG missed the boat, though. He should, at least once, have said something like this one I played last time I was here or something. (That was in '71, by the way)

That said, if I have to pick a Live At Pompeii gig to watch, I will *always* go back to the original. The version of Echoes on that thing is just insane. The guitarsolo is stellar.

Let's talk about this, at length, in November! :D

Last night we watched The Philadelphia Story. A beautiful movie. Both in performance and writing.

Saw this last night. Great little flick. Well acted, brilliantly shot, low budget brilliance.
Enjoy!

We watched Pom Poko the other day. One hell of an unexpected mixture at many levels, from slapstick to dire green issues.
The animated movie stars a band of raccoons who have tha ability to transform. They use this in many ways, most humourously is their transformation of their scrotum, or 'pouch' as they dub it in English, into everything from parachute to boat.
Fun, yet powerful movie.

As for Paterson, it's a very warm film with not much happening in it. Couldn't put my finger on it, but the name of the place, Paterson, sounded familiar - and finally it dawned to me. Yes, it's the birthplace of one Allen Ginsberg. As for the film, poetry plays a major role in it through Carlos William Carlos, no, sorry, William Carlos Williams, heh. Lovely everyday life saluting kind of flick, goes highly recommended.

Finally got around to watching this this weekend. I loved it. I laughed out loud a lot, but then I'm weird like that. I tend to laugh out loud when one is not supposed to.

I also saw Gravity, which was entertaining enough, but no masterpiece.

Yes lovely movie!
I had to get over the fact "Paterson" killed his father in Star Wars.
But that took just 60 secs.
