I did, too. And even more I loved "Piper," the short film which preceded it.

The last two movies I watched were Almodovar's Julieta & The Lobster. No spoilers for Julieta, but well worth seeing even though it's not one of his best - that being Bad Education in my 'umble opinion. The Lobster, one of the weirdest films I've ever seen and one of the funniest films I've seen in a while; if you like dark comedy it's a real treat, the silent disco scene in the woods had me in stitches, bloody hilarious.

PS. The sex scenes in Julieta are very nice. Recommended.

I have an unabashed love for horrible horror films. This is one of the worst I've ever seen. I'd heard really terrible things and I wasn't let down. Terrible acting, terrible effects, terrible soundtrack, just terrible. Highly recommended for anyone interested in really bad movies. Completely worth the 99 cents I spent.

Oh, sorry  It was Creepshow 3. The first two were created by George Romero and Stephen King and were quite good, for that genre. This third one they weren't affiliated with in any way. Clearly people trying to cash in on the series name. 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, hehe.

I had a sick day and watched movies on the sofa.
Finally got around to Boyhood. One of the most ambitious movies I've ever seen, and it pays off big time. Absolutely brilliant movie. So touching, and so eh.. real. Really exceptional. I hope it won lots of fame and fortune. Deserves it all.

I also watched Captain Phillips. Not bad. Pretty scary.
Amazing final scene. The corpsman on the ship working on the captain could calm the seven seas with her voice. That's the type of authority and calm all medical staff needs to project.

I'm planning to see Boyhood too. Just didn't get there yet.

But I saw A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night this weekend. A black and white Iranian vampire film from 2015. Very little dialogue, weird, very good cinematography. I liked it a lot.

Two movies over the holidays:
Star Wars - Rogue One
I absolutely loved it. There's a moment, towards the end, where my heart burst with pride. I all of a sudden realized where/when the movie would end and I felt quite emotional when it hit me. If you're not into Star Wars you won't get it and I won't try to explain. If you are into it, and you've seen the movie, then you probably know what I am talking about. Or not.
Saw it in the big IMAX 3D theatre in Amsterdam together with the kids. Ah, I love Star Wars.

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them
Again, went to Amsterdam to see it, this time the wife joined in. Brilliant day in Amsterdam and a wonderful movie! It's quite dark and scary, but very fun as well. Kids loved it! I enjoyed a day out and also the trip back to the magical world of HP/JK Rowling.

I think it's time I watch a movie which is not fantasy/sci-fi. Oh well, occupational hazard, I guess.

Saw it with the kids and loved it! We laughed, we cheered, we cried. Very satisfying even though the reviews were so mixed

Rogue One with the family 2 weeks ago. Very entertaining.

Paul Verhoeven's "Elle".
Gerda saw it before in the cinema, hated it, I watched it last night, loved it.
Isabelle Huppert is awesome in it.
