Just back from the cinema. Watched The Jungle Book together with my kids.
Absolutely loved it. Best children's movie I have seen. Ever.
Would like to see it again and again and again.

I cried when King Louis was shot off the Empire State Building.

Thanks for the recommendation. I just did, and I really enjoyed it. I like Matthew McConaughey (and I have no idea how to pronounce his name).

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Watched it with the kids. As good as it ever was.
Love me a bit of Indy from time to time!

I watched Dead man last night. A movie I was unaware of.
Directed by Jim Jarmusch shot in black and white, starring Johnny Depp,
also featuring some other excellent characters from Steve Buscemi and Iggy Pop,
to Robert Mitchum and John Hurt. Slow and crooked, as Jim Jarmusch does,
but full of atmosphere and beauty. I enjoyed it will watch again soon.

Saw Dead Man several years ago, and liked it very much for the very reasons you've described.

And of course it didn't hurt that it starred a young and beautiful (pre-divorce scandal) Johnny Depp.

Watched Land of Mine in the cinema yesterday, I got free tickets.

Very good, and very heavy film about German boys who had to clear Danish beaches of land mines in 1945. Consider it recommended.

Not a movie, per se, but it certainly has that feel to it at times.
Some time ago I decided to have a look at Game of Thrones. People were buzzing about it all over the place and praise came from people I didn't expect to enjoy that sort of thing.
So I started watching.
Season 1 starts out a little slow, perhaps, but there's obvious thought gone into the show and there's depth. Lots of different story-lines intertwined. Kept me marginally interested, but I had time so I kept watching.
From S2 onwards shit got real.
Well, it didn't really get real. There's magic and dragons and shit, so it's not real, but still. It got real.
I binge-watched S2, S3 and S4.

Last night I watched the season finale of S6.

Although S6 has been a little weaker than the previous ones - I think this is because GRRM didn't finish the book it's supposed to be based on, yet, he's running late so the producers had to make up their own storyline - the last two episodes are among the best I've ever seen on telly.
Especially the last one. Blew my mind.
Think I am going to binge-watch all seasons again now.

Long story short: Game of Thrones. Cool stuff. Recommended!

Game of Thrones is excellent though I've not made it past season 4 yet...

I just watched Wristcutters for the first time; I really enjoyed it. Slightly dark, Eugene Hutz, Tom Waits, Bobby from Sons of Anarchy, that kid from Almost Famous... good stuff

I liked Wristcutters, too-- saw it in the movie theatre when it first came out. I was one of perhaps 7 other people in the theatre. Of course, I was there only for Tom, but I enjoyed the movie overall.
