Any fans?

I think cure for the pain is incredible. The night made me cry the first time i heard it. Mark Sandman's lyrics kinda have a classic beat vibe of Tom's earlier stuff. I saw their last show in Chicago i think in 97ish.

Always liked Morphine. The first track of their last album is still one of my favorties. I've seen them in several incarnations, two different drummers, both drummers at the same time, and then the version without Mark Sandman after he died.

Does anyone know how Mr. Sandman Died?

Was it heart trouble or something?

(I don't mean to be a fluffin' arse but I think it is Cure for Pain)

I love Morphine and have all their records, except the B-sides and rarities. They are all very good.

Morphine was a very fine band...

Sandman's voice was one of the finest ever...and his two-string-slide-bass playing was incredible...

I have only two of their albums, "Cure for Pain" (everyone should have this album) and "Yes"

I saw them several times on festivals and in concert halls and every single time they blew me away...

They were to play the Dour festival in Belgium but Sandman decided to die on stage...Kristin Hersch decicated her gig on the festival to Mark Sandman and I must admit it was one of the best Hersch shows i've ever seen...

I've never heard of this band. I thought this thread was going to be about surgery.

*goes off to listen to Morphine*

Mark Sandman-2 string bass & vocals
Dana Colley-sax
Russ Gershon-sax

Mike Rivard-bass
Jay Hilts-drums

or Hypnosonics 2/2/97 the Knitting Factory/NYC

"B-Sides & Otherwise" is really good alot of cd single stuff and acouple movie soundtrack tunes. it is worth it for the "Pulled Over The Car" from the Japanese cd release of Yes.

I also have a "bootleg" of c-sides & otherwise" (partial track list) but it has the song "Providence" from the movie soundtrack of Postcards From America and the c-sides also has a great re-mix of Super Sex & the stomping of the song "11 o'clock"...

terrible lost that Mark Sandman (R.I.P.)

Any chance I can get you something to trade for a copy of c-sides, or maybe send you a couple of blanks? I'm a huge morphine fan and have never heard of it. I agree with you on b-sides though. I also like treat her right, but not as much as morphine.
