sure, it's probably been done before, but these threads never get old ;) always interesting to see what people's favorite bands are.

so, post your top 10 alltime favorites bands/artists!

also, post your age...just for the fun of it. :)

it has been done before, in many shapes and forms, but I don't think we've had an obligatory one before.

In no particular order and subject to change:

Tom Waits
Frank Zappa
Motorpsycho
Nick Cave
Neil Young
I'm very partial to pretty much any project involving Les Claypool
I'm very partial to pretty much any project involving Mike Patton
Velvet Underground
Soundgarden
dEUS

I'm 20 too!! Really!

Only 10...too bad

but still...as a decent 11 (not that there is a particular order anyway) basically anything Mississippi Delta blues...

two years ago U2 would have been in that list...

Not all of these are specific bands, but people with whom I admire their general creativity energy with all of their many projects and collaborations (Zorn, Frith, Lindsay), and also groups who I admire chiefly for the performance/confrontation aspect of their musical persona (Emil Beaulieau, The Haters):

Tom Waits
Captain Beefheart
Sun Ra
John Zorn
Emil Beaulieau
Fred Frith
Arto Lindsay
Joanna Newsom
Silver Jews
The Haters
