Thanks for the Library update, Surf. Excellent photos of the Dutchdogs and of Tom!
Wish there was a photo of the Nobel prize winner, too.

If you want any help with getting a collaborative web site up'n'running, I'd gladly help out. It's what I do.

Thanks Jonas, I'll pass it on. Kees has been working on the technical side.
Matter of fact here a little vimeo.

Kees has been working behind the scenes. Found a company who would tranfer all the files to a more modern website.
For waaaay less money as before. A crowd funding might be the next step.

Crowdfunding to pay a company to do it might not be necessary.

Why not reach out to the Waits community for volunteers, web developers and designers who would like to help?

That's what Kees has been doing. It's an ongoing thing. The idea is to be able to update the Library since Pieter stopped.
Have contributors and editors (We don't want FB bs like "what is your fav Waits album" and shit.)
Epitaph and Concerto Amsterdam want to contribute by giving "goodies" for the crowdfunding.
Financial and editorial independence is what Pieter asked us to keep when he handed over his archives.
And rightly so. It's all in the brainstorm stage. Copyright issues etc.
I passed on Jonas' offer and will of course share your thoughts Jeremy. I mean if there is one who knows TW photography.
Would love to get your take on copyright when you did the Mule blog.

Dear Dogs,

The Tom Waits Library is back as it was originally with the approval of Pieter from Holland, the creator of the site.
The URL changed a little bit. The library can be found on http://www.tomwaitslibrary.info.
We plan to have new additions to it, but the HTML that was used is not easily maintainable, so we are converting it now to an another system, called WordPress.
The video that you might have seen on Vimeo is a concept for a request for contributions we will do in a month.
We have a couple of principles that were also used for TWL in the past:

- First of all is the financial and editorial independence. There will be no advertisements and no dependence on any record company.
- Epitaph and Concerto only donate goodies for the crowdfunding that we hope to start in about a month.
- We are a non-profit foundation registered at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce.
- We plan to have an “ANBI status” for tax free donations in the Netherlands. (The Dutch Tax Administration can designate an institution to be a “Public Benefit Organization)
- We will not add a forum to the site, that’s for http://www.tomwaitsfan.com/forums/ and the news will be on Henk’s http://eyeballkid.blogspot.nl/

Furthermore, if anyone feels like assisting us as an editor contributing to the site contact us at info@tomwaitslibrary.info
The group working on this consists of Marco van Bergen, Dennis Sille, Hans Eijkelenboom, Fabian van Langevelde, Imro Simmelink, Peter Balkema and Jonas Ruthenberg.
And Pieter is watching us……
We will let you know soon,
Kees Lau

Next Tuesday at 5 PM the Library will be officially registered at a notary office.
Celebration afterwards, anyone?
