The "listening to your whole collection" has its advantages. I discover stuff that I didn't even realize I loved. Like this Fats Waller track:

It certainly does. I'm discovering and rediscovering many things.

And I enjoyed your Fats Waller track.

And now I'm at B in the "rock/pop" section. David Byrne/Brian Eno - My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts.

What an incredible album! Of course I knew this already, but it's lovely to be reminded of just how far ahead of its time this album was.

Wow, I love that!

Visited my kid in Canterbury a couple of weeks ago, and she's deeply into David Byrne these days. So we listened to Talking Heads and watched his TED talk and read some articles etc. And she just painted this.

Edit: I removed the picture, because I realized she hasn't posted it on her deviantart page yet.

ive been on a Talking Heads lovefest for the last 6 months, Life during Wartime in particular. David Byrne doesn't get enough credit for what he has accomplished in his career.

He's really an artist, on so many levels. I heard someone say on the radio that Talking Heads sound so dated, but I completely disagree. And I'm so pleased my kid has discovered them.

Totally agree! And I got to see your daughters portrait before you removed it. She's really talented!

Finally got around to give this a spin. Holy crap! It's groovey!
I bet it's one of those hard to find LPs. Gonna have to start looking.

The hardest to find would be the original pressing which had the track Qu'ran on it. This was subsequently removed on all editions by request of a muslim organization.
